Welsh Valleys Printing Firm Celebrates 30 Years In Business

Rainbow Print (Wales) Ltd celebrate 30 years in business this year, and the firm held an open day to mark the occasion at their premises in Merthyr Tydfil. Directors Darren Roberts and Hayley A. Jones started at Rainbow Print in 1986 and 1987 respectively, before purchasing the business via a management buy-out.

Hayley A. Jones said: “It was a very proud day for the whole Rainbow team, we planned the event with the same approach we do to all projects we undertake; with great team work and professionalism at the core. More importantly, it was the opportunity we wanted to be able to thank our clients, suppliers and contacts who have helped shape our company over these past 30 years. We enjoyed the afternoon immensely and are very grateful to everyone who came along to help us celebrate this milestone year.”

Rainbow has invested heavily in the past few years; notably £2.5million in Heidelberg lithographic presses and a new digital printing press that was installed late last year and the business deals with organisations right across the UK

Darren Roberts said: “Our 30th Anniversary was always going to be a special day for us but it was even more special when we saw the number of guests that attended on the day. We were honoured to have dignitaries, suppliers, clients, present acquaintances and some from years gone by all in the same room; this really made the event even more memorable. As a company we are proud of our history and were pleased to show everyone our current production facility in Merthyr Tydfil.”

The event was attended by a number of guests including, Mayor Cllr Brian Mansbridge and Mayoress Mrs Brenda Mansbridge, the CEO Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council Mr Gareth Chapman, the Leader of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council Cllr Mr Brendan Toomey, Mr Dai Havard MP, Mr Jim Todd the UK Sales Director of Heidelberg, owner of BNI South Wales Mr Guy Griffiths, and the former owner and founder of the company Brian Roberts MBE.

“Rainbow Print (Wales) hope to continue the upward trend in the last quarter of 2014. “Continued Mr Roberts. “We have grown year on year, but we are careful not to get too complacent. The key for us is consolidating our product and fine tuning it to absolute perfection. We have a much more diverse offering than we used to – so we’ll be busy over the next 12 months pushing the digital side of the business.”
