The event will begin at 8.30am each day and involves over fifteen different categories, allowing players of all standards to participate. The doubles and age categories will take place on the Sunday.
Speaking of the tournament, organiser Peter Bridgeman said: “Every year this tournament grows and now has a regular place on the Racketlon calendar. This is the first big Racketlon event of the year and players are keen to see if their winter training has paid off. The event would not be possible without the support of local businesses Easystore Self Storage and The Stove Room.”
Managing Director of Easystore Brendan Connies-Laing said: “We are thrilled to be involved again with such a prestigious event for the second year running. It’s always a great success and everyone who takes part thoroughly enjoys it.”
Carlton Chivers of The Stove Room said: “After seeing the enjoyment all the participants had last year I was delighted to give this event my support continue to drive this great sport forward.”
There will be over 80 competitors attending the event from more than ten countries including Wales, England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Hungary, France, India and Israel giving the Racketlon an international flavour.
Calum Reid, British number one and Duncan Stahl, British number two as well as Orsolya Szegner, former Cardiff University student from Hungary are some of the top players who will be at the event.
The tournament is at full capacity but if local players want to be added to the reserve list then they need to contact Peter Bridgeman directly.
