Cardiff-based SME Finance Partners, an advisory firm providing part time and project finance directors, has appointed a new director to oversee national expansion after impressive growth.
SME Finance Partners, headquartered in Miskin, has appointed Jason Cicero as director as it expands into the English market with the first move setting up an office in Yorkshire in order to apply the successful formula to a wider market.
Speaking of the appointment, Managing Partner Chris Thomas, said: “I’ve known Jason for a several years having previously worked with him. More and more SME’s are seeing the benefit of having a part time finance director as part of their team, and Jason’s experience, knowledge and presence will be highly valued by our clients. The fact that he’s a proud Welshman who has lived with his family in Yorkshire for the last 17 years means that Jason is the ideal man to lead our national expansion plans.
“Since we established the business in 2013, we’ve grown a great client base working with some fantastic businesses in our core South Wales market; and that remains our primary focus. We’ve had clients in Yorkshire since day one who we continue to work with, and now is the right time to build a greater presence in the area. There are lots of similarities between the two regions in terms of industrial heritage and values, and it’s a market that we want to develop and replicate there the success that we’ve achieved here in South Wales.”
Speaking of his appointment, Mr Cicero said: “This is an extremely exciting time for me and the business. From our base in Cardiff, we have worked with some of the UK’s best known corporate businesses for a number of years, but by establishing a permanent base in England, firstly in Yorkshire, and building the team to scale the business, we will now be better placed to help some of the UK’s brightest SMEs”.
Mr Cicero, who has over 20 years senior finance experience continued: “Not only do we want to impart businesses and organisations with the valued knowledge that safeguards their finances, but we want to ensure we do our bit to stimulate the local economy whilst protecting jobs and creating new opportunities during potentially testing times ahead.”
Mr Cicero, who originally hails from Cardiff, is a keen sports enthusiast and RFU-qualified rugby coach.
