The team has previously taken on the challenge of the Welsh Three Peaks that saw them raise over £3200, after this achievement they sought to carry on climbing and raising money for the hospice.
The ten-strong team accomplished the challenge of climbing 3000 meters and 27 miles by scaling Snowdon in North Wales, Scafell in England and Ben Nevis in Scotland in only 24 hours.
With donations of supplies coming from Barry-based outdoor clothing company Skogstad and Euro Commercials, the climbers were well equipped to take on the challenge.
Business Development Manager Ian England said “Not only are we thrilled to have completed this challenge, but to have raised over our target is fantastic. The hard work we all put in has really paid off.”
St David’s Hospice Care, based in Newport, provide palliative care and support for family members in South Wales. They aim to offer patients individual care and supply family members with the advice and help that is needed at such a delicate time.
Adrian Hadley, Deputy Chief Executive of St David’s Hospice Care, said: “We are delighted to have once again been selected as the charity that TWL has nominated to support through their latest team building challenge. We have a long standing relationship with TWL, and the firm has supported many of our different events and campaigns. To have raised this figure is fantastic and we would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew and the team for their continued support and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
Mr England continued “We’ve had a close relationship with St David’s Hospice Care for a number of years and by raising money we hope that they will be able to continue the fantastic work that they do with both patients and family members. Our Just Giving page is still open and I’d encourage anyone to donate.”
