The first meeting will be on 2nd September at the Parkway Hotel where Douglas Haig, Vice-Chairman of the Residential Landlords Association and Chairman of the Cardiff Landlord Forum will give a talk on how to keep abreast of legislation and the importance of being informed.
Speakers in the months to follow will give talks on a range of topics such as how to structure investments financially in a tax efficient manner, advice on purchasing property at auction, how the local government can best protect landlords and how banks can meet landlords’ needs.
“QualitySolicitors Rubin Lewis O’Brien wanted to launch a platform that engaged with the landlords of Cwmbran and Torfaen on issues and topics specific to them.” Said Sam George, Managing Partner at the firm. “We hear national and regional issues being debated in the Senedd and Westminster constantly, but we know that the landlords we deal with on a daily basis feel there is a disconnection between what happens politically and on the ground. Also, we wanted to educate landlords by giving them the chance to speak to a variety of figures who can offer sound and informative advice.”
“The Cwmbran Landlord Forum aims to be an educational platform where local landlords can debate views and bring issues to light.” Continues Mr George. “We want attendees to get a great deal of benefit from the forum, and hope that the speakers can offer real value those landlords who wish to engage with this free service that we’re offering clients and non-clients. ”
