Auctioneer Paul Fosh spoke at the third Cwmbran Landlord Forum hosted by QualitySolicitors Rubin Lewis O’Brien on Wednesday 4th February at the Parkway Hotel.
Paul Fosh established his property auctioneer company in 2001. Prior to starting the business, he had a long career in estate agency with companies across South Wales. The company has grown into the leading property auction house in Wales and consists of a strong team of highly qualified property and auction house professionals, who are extremely knowledgeable of the South Wales and West Country property market. Mr Fosh brought with him his current auction catalogue and discussed what investors should look at buying and selling through auctions.
Mr Fosh gave the local landlords several tips for buying at auction including making sure to check the legal pack on a property, to bid confidently and to know your price limit. He also advised buyers not to have their heart set on just one property as if it seems perfect it’s likely that most other people in the room will have had the same thought.
The forum has had a very positive response from landlords in the area. Attendee John Cooper, a local landlord with several properties, said: “I attended the forum and found the presentation given very informative and inspirational. I plan to attend future events and I have already recommended the event to other landlords.”
The Landlord Forum aims to be an educational platform where local landlords can discuss their experiences and bring issues to light in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Douglas Haig, Vice-Chairman and Director for Wales of the Residential Landlords Association (RLA) and Chairman of the Cardiff Landlord Forum said: “The RLA and QualitySolicitors Rubin Lewis O’Brien are committed to promoting forums and other educational platforms to help develop a better understanding of the private rented sector. These events are essential to help share information with landlords across South Wales.”
“We want attendees to benefit from the forum,” said Sam George, Managing Partner at QualitySolicitors Rubin Lewis O’Brien. ‘‘We hope that the speakers can offer real value to those landlords who wish to engage with this free service which is available for all current or potential landlords across the region. “
The next event will be held on Tuesday 14th April where Douglas Haig will be speaking on new legislation changes that will affect Landlords in the area.
