Children’s Charity Holds National Skydive Fundraiser

Children’s charity Follow Your Dreams is holding a National Skydive this April in two prime locations; Salisbury and Swansea. The Salisbury event will take place on 26th April in association with Go Skydive.Follow Your Dreams is a national charity operating in England and Wales that inspires children and young people with learning disabilities to follow their dreams.

“When we first proposed the idea for a National Skydive we received a huge amount of interest from people saying they would take part,” said Mike Williams, Project Manager at Follow your Dreams. “We are looking forward to seeing our supporters in rainbow t-shirts flying through the sky! It’s going to be a great event so why not come along, join in and tick something off your bucket list this year?”

It is free to take part providing a minimum amount of sponsorship is raised for the charity, with the money each jumper personally raises being spent to support children and young people with learning disabilities in their local area. Anyone over 16 can apply. Application forms are available directly from Follow Your Dreams by contacting Mike Williams

“We want to change a culture that says people with learning disabilities can’t or won’t achieve anything.” said Diane Blackmore, Chief Executive for Follow Your Dreams. “We know that they can and with the help of our supporters we achieve amazing outcomes from our service users like this story from Kayleigh in Wiltshire; Follow Your Dreams granted Kayleigh her wish to go to performing arts classes in which she undertook a Grade Eight Musical Theatre exam that has now given her the extra UCAS points that she needed to get to university. I’m happy to say that she has received an offer from university and starts this September. It’s stories like these that make everything we do worthwhile.”

“This is a great chance to take part in an unforgettable experience,” continued Mr Williams. “Whilst raising money for a worthy cause. It’s the perfect opportunity for anyone adventurous who has pledged to do something different this year”.
