Children’s Charity Holds Chistmas Party

Church Village based charity Follow Your Dreams is holding a Christmas party on Monday 22nd December. They have children from across the country coming to South Wales and the charity are working tirelessly to make it a spectacular party for them. The party will be at The Coconut’s Play Centre in Barry from 6.15pm to 8.15pm and will be free for children with disabilities and their siblings. The party will have a whole host of activities including arts and crafts, face painting, music and dancing, meeting Lightning McQueen and meeting Follow Your Dreams’ mascots Mr Tumble and Elsa from Frozen.

“We are asking the general public to donate any extra gifts this Christmas for a child with learning disabilities.” Says Diane Blackmore, Chief Executive for Follow Your Dreams. “Any children’s gifts are suitable from presents for newborns to presents for young adult. All gifts will be given to children and young adults with learning disabilities and their siblings.”

The charity has set up an Amazon Wish List online where the public can choose their donation: www.amazon.co.uk/registry/wishlist/2EEC8QEOAC8AT

Alternatively the charity is accepting gifts that are dropped to the charity’s head office in Church Village during normal office hours by 12 noon on Wednesday 17th December.

Any leftover gifts we will be hand delivering to local children who couldn’t come to the party, prioritising those children in hospital over the Christmas period. The charity is also looking for entertainers for the event who may wish to volunteer.

Follow Your Dreams is a national charity operating in England and Wales that inspires children and young people with learning disabilities to follow their dreams.

Their vision is for children and young people with learning disabilities to recognise their potential, be ambitious and be provided with the opportunities to follow their dreams. The charity focuses on children’s abilities, growing and developing skills through the delivery of creative and interactive events, dreams and workshops.
