Boxing legends to host Cardiff dinner as it supports charity

The Events Room has launched its Boxing Dinner of the Year 2016 to be held at the Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel  on Thursday 26th October, with legends Nigel Benn, Steve Collins and Michael Watson MBE making an appearance.

The event agency, headed up by Matthew Jones and Mark Shepherd, has pledged support to anti-bullying and support charity BulliesOut and has named the Cardiff-based organisation as its beneficiary for the evening.

Speaking of the event and link-up with BulliesOut, Matthew Jones said: “Bringing this event to Cardiff has been a lot of hard work, but it will certainly be worth it to see three legends of British boxing take the stage. We wanted to support a Cardiff-based charity, as well as get behind a cause that resonated with us. Boxing is no doubt an aggressive sport, but it’s how this energy is controlled that is the key to success. It’s important that we demonstrate that even in a full-contact sport such as boxing, there is no place for bullying or abusive behaviour.“

Linda James MBE, CEO of BulliesOut, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the support from The Events Room and we are excited to be charity partners for the Boxing Dinner of the Year this October. It is very important that we get the message across to young people involved in contact sports such as boxing that bullying tactics aren’t acceptable in any profession.”

The evening will commence at 7.30pm and will include a sumptuous two-course dinner, tales of boxing’s golden era, a charitable raffle and auction. Individual tickets start at £60+VAT and tables of 10 from £750+VAT. There will also be a photograph opportunity with all three of our special guests. This is an exclusive all ticket event.
