Cwmbran based accountancy firm Green & Co is celebrating their nomination as Best Employer by a national financial publication.
Accountancy Age magazine, which is aimed at financial professionals, has named Green & Co accountants for the second year running as one of the country’s leading employers. The news comes as the practice celebrates twenty years in business.
The privately owned firm is owned by Ed Gooderham and Nick Park. The business has grown from servicing a small number of clients locally to acquiring a large number of corporate and agricultural clients across the breadth of the UK.
Speaking of the nomination Gooderham said ‘‘We are delighted to be nominated for the second year in a row. We place a great deal of emphasis on staff development as well as reward. Nick and I have both been employed in environments where we felt under- stimulated; that is the last thing we want our staff to feel.’’
Gooderham continued ‘‘It is vital that we not only reward our staff for their hard work and dedication to the company and our clients, but we ensure they are continuously progressing in their own careers.
Park added ‘‘We focus a great deal on client retention. We aren’t a sales orientated business. We like to take care of our existing clients and let our reputation attract new business – and that is how we approach our staff. We want them to become the best at what they do whilst receiving reward, development and progression.’’
Green & Co currently serve over 600, with over half of that figure representing farming clients. The company have experienced consistent annual growth since the business was started in 1993 and specialise in minimising businesses liabilities. On average, they save their clients £2,500 in tax for every £1000 of fees.
Green & Co are regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), draw on their agricultural and commercial expertise to offer accountancy, bookkeeping and tax advising services to businesses across Wales and the South West of England.
