A Cardiff-based video production company has appointed a new Creative Director as part of their strategy to become one of the leading content production companies in the UK.
Storm & Shelter has announced the appointment of Jessica Gardner as a strategic management-level hire to focus on supplying their ever-growing portfolio of clients with the best in creative and engaging video content.
As Creative Director, Jess will lead the development, implementation and management of an inspiring and effective creative process at Storm & Shelter as the company continues to build on the quality of their output, push into new markets and establish lasting relationships with notable key client wins such as BT, Yamaha and H&M.
Jess returns to her hometown of Cardiff from a Creative Producer position at Red Bull Media House in Austria, and is a former producer and director at QVC. Throughout her career, Jess has worked on campaigns for Breast Cancer Care, Dyson, Bose and Clogau Gold, developing her expertise in content presentation designed to attract global audiences across all platforms.
Over a hundred people applied for the position, but Jess’ experience stood out for Managing Director Gruff Vaughan.
He said:“We’ve made some huge strides in the past few years and we’re looking to build on the household names that we work with. When we put the job description together, the person we had in mind had experience with big brands and on creatively inspiring projects; Jess’ CV not only ticked those boxes but her experience in directing and producing far surpassed anything we had hoped for in a new recruit. We were unsure if our ideal person even existed, but as soon as Jess came through the door we knew we were on to a winner.”
“We were looking for someone with a good balance of creativity and level-headedness, which is important when managing a creative team; someone that would push the creative output whilst keeping the client’s best interests at heart. With Jess taking over the reins of the creative team, we will confidently scale our production output whilst maintaining a focused, considered approach.”
Jess says she is joining Storm & Shelter to be part of a passionate creative team that are producing great work, and a management team that has big plans for the future of the company:
“The main attraction to Storm & Shelter is the calibre of work they are producing. I was totally blown away. Once I’d had a chat with them, I was incredibly impressed with the team and knew immediately that I really wanted to get on board. They were so warm and welcoming, as well as being some of the most hardworking and passionate professionals I’ve ever met.
“I am incredibly optimistic about the impact we can make going forward in this exciting and developing worldwide market.”
Storm & Shelter has emerged as a content producer with a reputation for quality and creativity within the highly competitive media production environment. Now the company is expanding its production capabilities and signing up new talent within a strategic rolling development plan for the medium and long term future.
