One of the founding partners of Cwmbran’s longest established law firm has officially retired after 28 years with the practice.
Jerome O’Brien, who originally hails from England, has left Rubin Lewis O’Brien after practising law for 45 years.
For the last three years, Mr O’Brien has acted as a Consultant to the firm, most recently on a part-time basis after stepping down as managing partner in 2014.
Sam George, who replaced Mr O’Brien as managing partner of Rubin Lewis O’Brien, said: “Jerome is the last of our founding partners to retire. He has had a highly successful and distinguished career and he has led our practice with innovation and energy over the years. He has been a great mentor to me personally, and I wish to take this opportunity to thank him for all his hard work.
“For 50 years, Rubin Lewis O’Brien has been a leading source of legal advice and representation in Cwmbran. Jerome was central to this and whilst he has acted for us on a consultant basis for the last few years, it is fitting that his official retirement comes mere months after us reaffirming complete independence from the QS network.”
Mr O’Brien graduated with a law degree from King’s College, London, before spending a couple of years practicing in the city. His Welsh wife led him to Cwmbran where, bar a five year spell working in Newport, he has been ever since.
Mr George continued: “On behalf of all staff, clients and friends of Rubin Lewis O’Brien, I wish Jerome a very happy retirement and good health. Italy has been a huge passion of Jerome’s in recent years, from holidays to exploring the culture. I know that Jerome will enjoy promoting his interest in Italy as well as spending time with his growing family.”
Rubin Lewis O’Brien provides legal advice to both individuals and businesses.
